I have been attending the Indianapolis 500 for almost 40 years now, and rain has been a factor approximately 70% 0f the time (delayed start, rain delays, rain outs (how about 1986 when we had to drive back one week later to see the race) (how about 1973 when it took 3 days to run a rain shortened race ) (how about 1997 when it took three days to run the race) (I missed it because I had to Work) etc, etc, etc.
My point is this: Since Mr. Tony George doesn't seem to have any problems with making changes to traditional things attached to the Indianapolis 500, why not change the date of the race and get it out of the monsoon season in Indiana. How about July 4th or Labor day weekend???
